Everyone knows a rabbit is faster than a turtle. Also everyone knows the storyline and the message. A sympathetic turtle and a cute furry rabbit teaches patience and determination through a silly crazy race. This race also lends itself to other abstract ideas and moral ideals that may take a few more readings to reveal.
